Gall Bladder 30
July 25th, 2007Gall Bladder 30 or HuanTiao is amusingly positioned in the buttock one third the distance from the greater trochanter to the sacral hiatus. It is also amusingly translated as Jumping Circle - a name anyone who has had this point stimulated a little too vigorously can attest to.
It is most easily accessed when the client is lying prone or on his/her side, but one of my clients told me that she had managed to press it on herself while sitting at her desk…when I recommended this acupoint to her for the relief of pregnancy-related sciatica, I had actually envisioned her husband helping out at home in the evenings! But she said it helped a lot that way, just pressing until she felt that focused, slightly ‘burning’ sensation that indicates the acupoint is ‘active’ .
This powerful acupoint also benefits those clients who are not pregnant - it is excellent for sciatica, lumbar back pain, hip and leg pain.
